Late reporting, but still... From MSNBC:

"Part of the elaborate Olympics fireworks show broadcast to the world in the opening ceremony was altered, done digitally in 3-D computer graphics, according to several news reports.

While the dramatic display actually happened as portrayed on television, members of the Beijing Olympic Committee said it was necessary to replace live video with computer-generated imagery because the city’s hazy, smoggy skies made it too difficult to see, according to The Beijing Times, which first reported the story.

Committee members also said they were concerned that the helicopter pilot who would have flown overhead to film the fireworks would have been “at risk by making him try to follow the firework route,” according to a quote from a committee member reported in a Daily Telegraph story.

Even those at the city’s new Bird’s Nest National Stadium, where the Olympics are being held, viewed the computer-generated footage from their seats as they watched on the stadium’s giant television screens, said Britain’s Sky News in a story.

“Stunned viewers thought they were watching the string of fireworks filmed from above by a helicopter,” said SkyNews.com. “But in reality they were watching a 3-D graphics sequence that took almost a year to produce.”

There were some real fireworks going on outside the stadium. But the footprint display was “inserted into the coverage electronically at exactly the right moment,” the Daily Telegraph said.

“Meticulous efforts were made to ensure the sequence was as unnoticeable as possible,” the newspaper reported Xiaolong as saying. “They sought advice from the Beijing meteorological office as to how to recreate the hazy effects of Beijing’s smog at night, and inserted a slight camera shake effect to simulate the idea that it was filmed from a helicopter.”

"Radio sensing stations to track traffic and cargo up and down the I-35 NAFTA Superhighway corridor are being installed by Communist China, operating through a port operator subsidiary of Hutchison Whampoa, in conjunction with Lockheed Martin and the North America's SuperCorridor Coalition, Inc.

The idea is that RFID chips placed in containers where manufactured goods are shipped from China will be able to be tracked to the Mexican ports on the Pacific where the containers are unloaded onto Mexican trucks and trains for transportation on the I-35 NAFTA Superhighway to destinations within the United States.

NASCO, a trade association based in Dallas, Texas, has teamed with Lockheed Martin to use RFID tracking technology Lockheed Martin developed for the U.S. Department of Defense's projects in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as at U.S. military stations throughout the world.

China has a central position in applying the RFID technology on I-35, given Hutchinson Port Holdings' 49 percent ownership of Savi Networks, the Lockheed Martin subsidiary that will get the job of placing the sensors all up and down the NAFTA Superhighway.

Nathan Hansen, a Minnesota attorney, has archived on his blog a series of NASCO documents obtained under a Minnesota Data Practices Act.

Among these documents released by Hansen is a Letter of Intent between NASCO and Savi Networks which details how NASCO and Lockheed Martin intend to implement NAFTRACS.

A contract signed with NASCO authorizes Savi Networks to place a system of RFID sensors along the entire length of I-35 to track RFID equipped containers which travel the I-35 NAFTA Superhighway, including those Chinese containers that enter the continent through the Mexican ports of Manzanillo and Lázaro Cárdenas.

The Federal Highway Administration website is currently archiving a slide show presentation by Tiffany Melvin, NASCO’s executive director, containing a discussion of the North American Facilitation of Transportation, Trade, Reduced Congestion and Security, designed to track containers along I-35 with Savi RFID technology and to provide the information to "various federal and state DOT (Department of Transportation) participants."

Hutchison Ports Holding operates the ports at Manzanillo and Lázaro Cárdenas, as well as both ends of the Panama Canal.

Savi Technology spokesmen refused to return WND calls after messages were left at the company for three consecutive days.

It turns out forensics identified a totally different person as the V-Tech gunman before the official story concealed around the robotic patsy Cho. From a google cache of the Chicago Sun-Times Monday night:

The 25-year-old man being investigated for the deadliest college carnage in U.S. history reportedly arrived in San Francisco on a United Airlines flight on Aug. 7, 2006, on a visa issued in Shanghai, the source said. Investigators had not linked him to any terrorist groups, the source added.

The shooter reportedly had multiple handguns with high-capacity magazines, enabling him to kill many students quickly.

The rampage also appeared to have been premeditated since the exits in the campus buildings in which the shootings occurred were chained.

The story at that URL was updated Tuesday morning after ATF had "helped" by taking over the firearm forensics analysis Monday night(though the date on the story remained April 16). Again, from Chicago Sun-Times:

The gunman suspected of carrying out the Virginia Tech massacre that left 33 people dead was identified today as Cho Seung-Hui, a 23-year-old South Korean who was a senior at the school.

He was carrying a backpack that contained 9mm clips, two knives and a bag from Dick's Sporting Goods, a source said. The backpack was found near the shooter.

The initial investigation had led law enforcement authorities to a preliminary suspect who was a Chinese national, accompanied by details and a description. The man was placed on the suspect list before fingerprints could be verified. The list in turn was distributed to law enforcement officials via a national network in place to check on possible terrorism in the United States.

Cho was identified following an analysis of fingerprints and ballistics.

Cho was a English major whose creative writing was so disturbing that he was referred to the school’s counseling service.

News reports also said he may have been taking medication for depression.

Also note that eyewitnesses who survived the slaughter said the gunman was a 6-foot Asian man. Yet the patsy Cho was 5-foot-8, 150 pounds. It is likely that the six-foot Asian gunman was indeed this Chinese man.

Independent investigators in Blacksburg should try to find out who this mysterious might have been -- was there anyone fitting this description in Blacksburg over the last several who may have had access to the campus? An employee of the University perhaps?

Distrubingly, this information implies that the Chinese Communists in the People's Liberation Army are actively working with elements of the American military-intelligence complex in conducting murderous operations on American soil.

"The Chinese navy task group is to participate in the multinational naval exercises (AMAN-07) to be held in the Arabian Sea off Pakistan from Tuesday.

The task group, composed of two guided missile frigates, Lian Yungang and Sanming, received warm welcome by Pakistani navy officers, folk dancers, and Chinese working in Karachi, Xinhua reported.

Pakistani navy captain Asif Hameed greeted the head of the Chinese task group senior captain Qiu Yanpeng with flowers and held talks with senior Chinese navy officers on board Lian Yungang.

Qiu thanked Hameed for the Pakistani navy's help and later showed him around the Chinese warship.

Major General Li Mengyan and General Consul Chen Shanmin were also present on the occasion.

The multinational naval exercises AMAN-07, or Peace-07, were initiated by Pakistan.

Bangladesh, China, France, Italy, Malaysia, Pakistan, Turkey, Britain, the United States will participate in week-long joint naval exercises in the Arabian Sea.
