A lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan Monday charges Vice President Dick Cheney, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, and ex-Air Force General Richard Myers, acting Chairman of the Joint Chiefs on September 11th with "broad complicity" in the attacks of that horrific day. The suit seeks damages, triple damages and punitive damages for an ex-U.S.Army member who, along with her two-month-old baby, was injured in the terrorist attack on the Pentagon on 9/11.
The ex-G.I. plaintiff alleges she has been denied government support since then, because she raised "painful questions" about the inexplicable failure of military defenses at the Pentagon that day, and especially the failure of officials to warn and evacuate the occupants of the building when they knew the attack was imminent..
The complaint alleges the three leaders and other "unknown, named" U.S. military and civilian officials engaged in a conspiracy to "facilitate and enable" the Attack on America; because they wished to bring about a "frightening catastrophe of terrorism", "a new Pearl Harbor", which would create "a powerful reaction of fear and anger in the public and in Washington". This would generate an "atmosphere of acceptance" which would allow the longed-for neo-conservative political and military program to go forward: invade Afghanistan, pass the Patriot Act, invade Iraq, tap phones, etc; torture, lie, intimidate, etc.
The plaintiff AG [April Gallop] was a career soldier, holding top secret clearance, who had an agreeable assignment in Germany until she was abruptly transferred to the Pentagon in 2000. On September 11, 2001, she had a new baby boy, Elisha, with her on her first day back from a two-month maternity leave. She was told by her supervisor to hurry to her desk that morning, for an urgent document-clearing job, and to drop the baby off at child care later. She got to her office, turned on her computer, and the place blew up. There were at least two big explosions that she heard and felt.
The walls collapsed, the ceiling fell in, she was hit in the head and knocked unconscious; she came to, grabbed the baby (who was also hit in the head), and picked her way out to where daylight was showing, where the front of the first floor had been blown off. The insides of the building were also blown out; but there was no sign of any wrecked airliner, and no burning jet fuel splashed anywhere.
There is also no sign of airliner wreckage in any photograph that has been published so far; and there are many photographs that show a clear absence of wreckage, and plain evidence of blast damage.

How Cheney convinced former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, a leading Republican opponent of war with Iraq, to vote in favor of the war resolution:
"Cheney ... had ... a borrowed hideaway office in the Capitol building," Gellman explained. "He brings Armey in ... and he lays out a big stack of papers and says, 'Let me explain to you what's really going on. ... Saddam is much more dangerous than we want to tell the public.'"
"He told Armey two things that he's never said in public and that are not true," Gellman continued. "He said that Saddam personally, and his family, had direct ties with al Qaeda. And he said that Iraq was making substantial progress towards a miniature nuclear weapon."
According to Gellman's book, Cheney told Armey that Iraq would soon have "packages that could be moved even by ground personnel" and "a delivery system in their relationship with organizations such as al Qaeda." These claims, writes Gellman, "crossed so far beyond the known universe of fact that they were simply without foundation."
Although Cheney's mini-nuke fabrication has not previously been revealed, Cheney did state somewhat cryptically in a September 2002 interview with Tim Russert, "That’s why it’s so important for us when we do identify the kind of threat that we see emerging now in Iraq, when we do see the capabilities of that regime and the way Saddam Hussein has operated over the years that we have to give serious consideration to how we’re going to address it before he can launch an attack, not wait until after he’s launched an attack."
"Armey is a very angry man at this point," Gellman told Stewart. "He was against the war. ... He was actually weeping in the well of the House when he cast his vote."
In his book, Gellman quotes Armey as saying, "Had I known or believed then what I believe now, I would have publicly opposed [the war] resolution right to the bitter end, and I believe I might have stopped it from happening."
"I deserved better than to be bullshitted by the vice president," Armey told Gellman.
"Wondering why Congressman Kucinich has withdrawn his impeachment resolution against Cheney, and dropped out of impeachment in general? Wondering why the Los Angeles Impeachment Center has decided to liquidate itself and shut down? Wondering why impeachment meetups across the US are folding? Wondering why so many left-liberal spokesmen are dropping the impeachment issue like a hot potato? All signs suggest that the demagogic needs of the Obama presidential campaign provide the answer. Impeachment is being sabotaged by left-wing Democrats now moving to support Obama so as to spare the messianic Illinois senator the political embarrassment of having to comment on a serious impeachment effort, which his craven rejection of political struggle makes a taboo. In effect, Obama’s phobia against impeachment is even stronger than Hillary’s.
As is well known, Obama's fatuous utopian rhetoric promises a golden age and earthly paradise of political harmony in which all real conflicts will be magically neutralized and submerged by the senator's personal charisma. Above all, partisan political clashes will be forbidden. Well, the impeachment of Bush-Cheney is a vital necessity for the future survival of representative government in this country, but carrying it out will necessarily be a rather acrimonious and partisan business. Obama cannot tolerate such a messy process, which might interfere with his ability to float like a seraph above the ignorant armies who clash by night. Struggle in any form is not part of Obama's playbook; it might upset Goldman Sachs, Soros, and his other Wall Street contributors – to say nothing of the fussy independent voters upon whom Obama’s future rests. It might not play well in the wealthy suburbs. It might spoil his carefully cultivated apolitical, post-partisan image.
Therefore, it is clear, the word has gone out to Obama's leftist backers: impeachment must be dumped, betrayed, sandbagged, and sabotaged without further ado. That is what is now happening. Congressman Kucinich shocked his supporters by telling them to support Obama on the second go-round in the Iowa caucuses. Now he has dropped out of the race and abandoned his own signature issue.
Every vote for Obama is a vote to take impeachment off the agenda – forever. Obama supporters should get ready to live with those Bush-Cheney precedents, signing statements, and practices of entrenched totalitarian corruption for the rest of their lives. If Obama wins the day, there will be no question of impeachment, the only way to wipe the slate clean of all the Bush-Cheney obscenities. Obama and impeachment are incompatible. Impeachment supporters should dump the Illinois senator – the cause of impeachment is far more important than the vapid slogans dished up by Zbigniew Brzezinski’s puppet Obama.
"As a person who supports holding this Administration accountable for their deceptive actions, you may be interested to know about the recent votes in the House regarding H.Res. 333, "Impeaching Richard B. Cheney, Vice President of the United States, for high crimes and misdemeanors."
I share your belief that Vice President Cheney must answer for his deceptive actions in office, particularly with regard to the preparations for the Iraq war and the revelation of the identity of covert agent Valerie Plame Wilson as part of political retribution against her husband. That is why I voted against the motion to table debate on H.Res. 333. Along with only 85 other Democrats, I opposed tabling the measure and supported beginning immediate debate and a vote on the Cheney impeachment resolution. The vote on tabling the Kucinich resolution was rejected, and the House subsequently voted to refer the matter to the Judiciary Committee.
Vice President Dick Cheney and the Bush Administration have demonstrated a consistent pattern of abusing the law and misleading Congress and the American people. We see the consequences of these actions abroad in Iraq and at home through the violations of our civil liberties. The American people are served well with a legitimate and thorough impeachment inquiry. I will urge the Judiciary Committee to schedule impeachment hearings immediately and not let this issue languish as it has over the last six months. Only through hearings can we bring begin to correct the abuses of Dick Cheney and the Bush Administration; and, if it is determined in these hearings that Vice President Cheney has committed High Crimes and Misdemeanors, he should be impeached and removed from office. It is time for Congress to expose the multitude of misdeeds of the Administration, and I am hopeful that the Judiciary Committee will expeditiously begin an investigation of this matter.
"PORTLAND, Ore. - Bomb-sniffing dogs being used for a TOPOFF exercise in northeast Portland detected the real thing, prompting police to cordon off a hotel, close nearby streets and shut down the MAX.
According to Brian Schmautz with the Portland Police Bureau, as officials were doing a sweep of the Doubletree Hotel located near the Lloyd Center, bomb-sniffing dogs got a hit on a car in the vicinity.
There is currently a heavy police presence in the area while police investigate. The TOPOFF exercise scheduled to take place at the hotel has been canceled.

A few days ago, a group of lawyers from western Massachusetts met with the local congressman, Democrat John Olver. Their request was that Olver take part in the urgent effort to impeach Bush and Cheney. Olver responded by saying that he had no intention of doing anything to support impeachment. He went further, offering the information that the United States would soon attack Iran, and that these hostilities would be followed by the imposition of a martial law regime here.
According to reports in the British press, the Cheney war party has gained the upper hand in the secret councils of the Bush White House, pushing aside the purported hesitations of Miss Rice, Secretary Gates, and the NATO allies to chart a direct course towards war with Iran:
'The balance in the internal White House debate over Iran has shifted back in favour of military action before President George Bush leaves office in 18 months, the Guardian has learned. The shift follows an internal review involving the White House, the Pentagon and the state department over the last month. Although the Bush administration is in deep trouble over Iraq, it remains focused on Iran. A well-placed source in Washington said: "Bush is not going to leave office with Iran still in limbo." ...at a meeting of the White House, Pentagon and state department last month, Mr Cheney expressed frustration at the lack of progress and Mr Bush sided with him. "The balance has tilted. There is cause for concern," the source said this week. ... "Cheney has limited capital left, but if he wanted to use all his capital on this one issue, he could still have an impact," said Patrick Cronin, the director of studies at the International Institute for Strategic Studies.' Deluded supporters of the Democratic Party may soon have to throw away their pathetic countdown clocks, those self-consoling little devices that remind them of how much time remains until noon on January 20, 2009, the moment when it is thought that Bush will finally leave office. These countdown clocks make no provision for the Cheney doctrine, which calls for a new super 9/11 with weapons of mass destruction in the US, to be used as the pretext for a nuclear attack on Iran and for martial law at home. Those who think the Republicans cannot hold the White House in 2008 have forgotten that neocons always prefer a coup d'etat to an election. As Cheney told Bob Schieffer of CBS's Face the Nation on April 15, 2007:
'The greatest threat now is "a 9/11 occurring with a group of terrorists armed not with airline tickets and box cutters, but with a nuclear weapon in the middle of one of our own cities."'
Pelosi and Reid need to toss out their fatuous countdown clocks, and get out their impeachment stopwatches - fast.
This is also interesting... Washington Post is reporting that Cheney was the only person in the bunker to be totally unsurprise and unfazed when the World Trade Center disintegrated in mere seconds:
Previous accounts have described Cheney's adrenaline-charged evacuation to the Presidential Emergency Operations Center that morning, a Secret Service agent on each arm. They have not detailed his reaction, 22 minutes later, when the south tower of the World Trade Center collapsed.
"There was a groan in the room that I won't forget, ever," one witness said. "It seemed like one groan from everyone" -- among them Rice; her deputy, Stephen J. Hadley; economic adviser Lawrence B. Lindsey; counselor Matalin; Cheney's chief of staff, Libby; and the vice president's wife.
Cheney made no sound. "I remember turning my head and looking at the vice president, and his expression never changed," said the witness, reading from a notebook of observations written that day. Cheney closed his eyes against the image for one long, slow blink.
Three people who were present, not all of them admirers, said they saw no sign then or later of the profound psychological transformation that has often been imputed to Cheney. What they saw, they said, was extraordinary self-containment and a rapid shift of focus to the machinery of power. While others assessed casualties and the work of "first responders," Cheney began planning for a conflict that would call upon lawyers as often as soldiers and spies.

"Vice President Cheney isn't not on the phone records of the alleged D.C. Madam, who is accused of running a high-price call-girl ring in Washington, the accused madam's lawyer said on Tuesday.
But then again, the veep isn't on the list, he said — not necessarily.
What's that? Montgomery Blair Sibley, lawyer to alleged madam Deborah Jeane Palfrey, tossed out the age-old "can neither confirm nor deny" teaser line while appearing with his client at Nathan's in Georgetown for one of the restaurant's "Q&A Café" chatting sessions. But clearly, the headline-hyping Sibley was eager to fan the flames of the bizarre Cheney escort-service rumor, which has popped up in some far corners of the blogosphere.
"We are investigating some numbers in the McLean area ... and if that turns something up, he might be called as a witness," Sibley said, referring to the Virginia neighborhood that the vice president once called home.
Palfrey maintains that she did not keep records of the clients of her escort service, only phone numbers. The services provided by her squadron of ladies, she says, were of the legal, "fantasy" variety.
And in an effort to find witnesses for her defense, Palfrey turned over portions of her phone records to ABC News, who she hoped would use the phone numbers to identify high-ranking former clients who could help her case. ABC, though, only named two administration officials as showing up on her phone list.
Palfrey and Sibley expressed disappointment, too, over the shortage of boldfaced names in ABC's reporting on the phone records. Although he gave props to ABC News reporter Brian Ross, Sibley indicated that they were expecting a few more. -----
"Cheney's media adviser Cathie Martin wrote down Cheney's options for attacking the Wilsons in the media. First was to go to White House lickspittle and General Electric (major defense contractor)/NBC employee Tim Russert. The memo also mentions "leak" to Sanger (David Sanger NYT), Pincus (Walter Pincus, Washington Post), and "newsmag." In February 2004, Bush said, "If there's a leak out of my administration, I want to know who it is . . . If the person has violated law, that person will be taken care of . . . Leaks of classified information are bad things." There is also a reference to Bob Woodward and calling intelligence and sitting in a room and debate. Martin crossed out the names of National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley and Scooter Libby (Scooter) as action managers for the leak. However, Cheney's (VP), Donald Rumsfeld's, and Condoleeza Rice's (Condi) names are left intact. This memo is the smoking gun for the criminal conspiracy against the Wilsons, one that also compromised Brewster Jennings & Associates and their work to stem the flow of weapons of mass destruction. The memo is actionable evidence against Cheney, Libby, Rice, and Hadley. Libby's defense team has already implicated Karl Rove. The written memos being produced by both sides in the Libby trial are the "Watergate tapes," the smoking guns to justify immediate articles of impeachment against Bush and Cheney. -----
